i have a 97 bravo hgt and considering a 20 valve turbo conversion. but i dont have the red key for mine would this be a problem? and where would i find a rear ended coupe turbo

help would be much appreciated:slayer:

as your going to be driving the car with the turbo ECU, your going to need to get the doner ECU code system turned off so your can use your existing lock set

rear end shunt coupes are not easy to come by. your going about it the best way as you need a lot of the coupe to make it work

its hard work, full of pain, and unless you have run a 20vt coupe in the past i would honestly think twice about it

its a drop in conversion as regards mounting points. the wiring is not plug and play however. the loom match up is close but you got to have your wiring hat on

make sure you do this on the 147 bravo and not the 155, it can be done on the 155 but its a massive pain in the ass

its the 147 bravo i have. i was thinkin if u got the coupe it use all the locks that way i have the red key 2 match the ecu anyway. plus i have a good mate thats offered 2 do the conversion hes rather good at his stuff as ive witnessed sum things hes done previous. ill have 2 get sum pics of my bravo up on here

you wouldnt want to use the coupe locks or ignition, there is no point. Get the coupe ecu decoded (coupe) and you dont need to fanny about changing lock sets and ignitions.

your mate, he wont be your mate after this...trust me :D

there are a few people over on fccuk that have done the conversion, its well coverd for the mariare and the bravo

Turbocharging a 20v is possible but NOT a good idea, because 20V basement DON'T have lubrication point under the pistons, as T20 have instead.
So, T20 swap would be the best thing to do. Mechanically is not an impossible work, someone has moved the battery in the trunk to make more space but only if you make also some modifications, like front IC or bigger turbo.
Wiring and ECU is another thing. This is the REAL difficult part to do, as Coupè and Bravo don't have identically electric implants.

Well... good luck!:D
