Car in question is: Bravo 1.4 12v 1997

Does anyone know:

What kind of gearbox oil should I use ?

Fiat just list their own make but not the grade

What size of hex bit does the top up plug need ?

The oil you need is 75w 90 semi synthetic gear oil. The gearbox capacity is 1.7 litres.

How come I know this??

I've just bought oil to change the oil in my own gearbox

Yeah that was my next guess, I already had a 10mm which was too small so I bought a 14mm which was too big, I'll take that back and get a 12mm and try that.
