my1.6 hlx is playin up big time and ive been offered a 1.6sx for 300 quid so rather than strippin the kit off mine and gettin the whole car resprayed i was thinkin of just droppin the engine into my car that i have now. just wonderin if there is any major differences like engine mounts etc. or will the sx engine just slot straight in???

what dave said, i put a mk2 into my mk1 and i had to re do all the wiring loom

to add,
to tell the difference, correct me if i'm wrong lads, the mk 1 has an alloy induction manifold and mk 2 has a plastic one. :)

Shaun, are the ECU's the same. as in, did you just undo the loom from the ECU and leave connected to the engine then fit the new engine with its loom.

wasn't there a really funny misunderstanding in a post regarding your conversion  :D

cheers,im guessin its easy enuff to do then? my new bravo spent more time off the road as it has on lol all be sweet when runnin properly

im thinkin of scrappin the bravo now strippin down for parts and gettin a uno turbo instead what ya rekon???

If you are mechanically minded, as its very old school, and can find a good one both mechanically and cosmetically or you have loads of time and space to do one as a project then yes. Not really a daily driver in the same regards as say a 1.6 bravo. I suggest you speak to the nice and well informed guys and girls in the Uno section (y)

from what ive been quoted im not gonna get much change out of a grand to put the bravo back on the road so im thinkin of just cutting my loses with it and hoping for the best with the uno lol ill decide by later today and more than likely a list will be up on here about parts being broken
