i have a fiat bravo 1.6.. changed cambelt, waterpump,ht plugs, full serivce also done last week. coilpack was changed a month ago.

the car is still misfiring alot. what do you guys think it could be?

thank you.

well the mechainic done it. so i do not know which one he put in. but even before the service it was misfirin the same. thank you

ok think we can rule that out then

we had one at work a wile ago same engine missfiring under load only when hot and we changed literally everything short of the engine from a donor

and it still did it does that sound similar to yours or is it all the time

Did do a change on an ecu a while ago, and the dud one had injector fault written on it. Dont know whether thats relevant or not, might be the time to get Fiat to do a diag on it.
Tony.

Is the injector light on? It could be a faulty injector, which seems to be a favourite on this engine. If you have a trawl through the search engine, there's a thread somewhere with a simple explanation by Jug on how to check for a faulty injector.

Mine did the same, turns out one of the spark plugs died so the other three were doing all the work causing injector problems. Check these before you do anything else as it could be a cheap solution!

hum we just had a multiple 1.6 16v at work very similar engine and ecu and it seems that a dodgy lead plug or coil can feed back to the ecu and make it think theres an injector down cos we had one saying multiple injectors down and a new coil solved it

it also caused dash to go nuts when reved and the missfire was most prominent very weird

and ontop of that there common for injectors

they were never the best of engines well the engine was fine very powefull very revy but the electrics fueling and ignition was a disaster

well its always happening. once the car is hot it does it alot. no lights are on. i have changed almost everything and still doing it.

As I have just learned - NEVER trust these cars!!

My 2001 1.2 80SX Brava had a horrid misfire, that after a service went away for about 15 minutes driving time. It then came back with a vengeance.

I ended up taking the car to my Wife's Uncle who is a mechanic - turns out that two of the brand new HT leads that were fitted - were faulty :(

Guess who had binned the receipt :( :(

Another new set of leads later - running like a dream!

Regards,
Lee.

Hi, do you lose power with little popping misfires after its been running for 15 or so mins?
if so, it could be the lambda's.
