hi all due to my previous posts about my car not starting, well im getting a diagnostics done tomorow..can someone tell me how acurate a diagnostics is..is it 100% correct with regards to any problems it may find..

cod3e reads are 100% accurate if there quality tools used but also bare in mind it could be something else that is causing sensors to fail:(

ie broken wire
blocked filters/breathers
etc etc etc:cool:

the bloke came out with the diagnostics gear and tried to do a diagnostics but the bravo wouldnt let him into the ecu..so basically we didnt find out what it was. he says that i should disconnect the negative of the battery then disconnect the ecu for a few hours. then reconnect the ecu then the negative to the battery. then put key in and turn the key but not start the car. leave it for 30 seconds or so then take the key out and put it back in and turn the ignition on for about another 30 seconds to see if the ecu will reset itself and hopefully start. if it doesnt start then he seems to think that it will be the ignition module at fault. does anybody agree. also should he have charged me the £40 i paid him for the diagnostics that he couldnt do. im a bit bemused.

Cant comment if thats the correct way to do it - i thought it would be a case of removing the -ve on the battery to reset the ECU

I guess he needs to account for his time taken "trying" to read your bravo, as to whether that justifies £40 - i wouldnt say so but nobody wants to do something for nothing these days

I hope you get the Brav sorted
