Hi all,

Front discs/pads are fairly new...brakes have been bleed and fluid changed and no ABS light.

When I brake sharply the front of the car dips and there is a clunk that I can hear and also feel through the brake pedal. Stopping power doesnt seem to be affected and nothing showed up when it went through the MOT a few weeks ago.

Anyone got any ideas where and what I should check first..? And how high/low should the front end be..it doesnt look or feel like the shocks have gone but you never know.

Also there is a small barrel key type lock ubder the fuse box panel with on/off on it. Is this the imobiliser over rider or something to do with the alarm..? My alarm and imobiliser doesnt seem to be on or working.

Cheers
Rolf

Hi,
The ABS sometimes comes on with a clunk. If its suspension then check the drop links and bushes. The brake pads are floating, it may be that one of them is moving.

The key in the fuse panel is the alarm isolator, if the lock cutout is positioned to the right then its on, up and its off.

Dave :)
