Has anyone else come across this issue, and what was done about it?

I was driving the car a little enthusiastically through the country roads, I then went to brake fro a corner, but the brakes seemed not to apply very well. (Luckily I had left enough room to negotiate the corner safely). I then noticed that the pad warning light was illuminated. This now flickers while driving, but is solid when braking. The braking response is back to normal (albeit for the warning light).

I took the wheels off and inspected the pads, and found loads of pad left (<3000 miles on pads). The sensor wires are connected correctly.

The exact thing happened with the last set of pads (same stretch of road), but because the pad thickness was low, I opted to replace them.

My feeling is that I overheated the brakes, and melted the sensor wire on one of the sides.

Cheers,

Carl
