hi folks,i posted a few days ago about car being sluggish at low revs, now im trying to find sparkplugs for it and ht leads,i dont really want to pay dealer prices as i expect them to be expensive.
i would appreciate some advice on which are the best for my car and any links please as halfords dont sell any for my car and cant find any on ebay either.

also in a manual at halfords i read a guide and it said i needed adapters to make HT leads fit my car??
but they dont sell the ht leads lol.
need to get this sorted before it damages the car.
cheers for all help.

Hi I Dunno About Adaptor's Jug And The Other's Would Know Best!!!

But German And Swedish Do Plugs And H.T. Leads And A Few Other Running Bits For Fiat's

halfords are a waste of time. even if they have the bits you need they often supply inferior brands such as bosch.

your engine needs NGK DCPR8EKC if it was made before june 1999
your engine needs NGK DCPR8E-N if it was made after june 1999

soi that emans you need NGK DCPR8E-N

its important that you dont use the wrong type.

the leads can be bought at any motor factor. brand doesn't really matter, and you wont need adapters either.

crap,i just went to andrew page and he told and sold me some bosch ones(sparks) that are recomended for my car lol, should i take them back or try them?

also my car is reg form may 2001,so i would need the others.

wow are they really that bad,i always thought they was a good brand lol and i cant get any others as no body sells them

i've seen electrodes burn on bosch super4 plugs. that doesnt mean it will happen to you, i'm sure its a rare thing, but its enough to put me off.

jug while u around and from everything i have read on the site you seem by far the fiat bible,i have a small problem im hoping,
basically i have a kncking noise coming from engine,on idle, when i press clutch down it goes, any idea what it could be,it dont sound bad,but would like to get it done to keep the car in good condition.

sounds like its coming from the gearbox, not the engine. i would use a wrapping paper tube to work out where exactly it is coming from, ie is from the bell housing (so is clutch release bearing related) or is it from the box itself, or the diff

cheers arc,is it an easy fix if it is clutch related also is it cheap as im broke lol, also i have noticed its sometimes dificult ot get it into gear,so i think it is the gearbox.

With the engine off is it difficult to put it into gears too? Difficulty getting it into gear also points to a clutch issue. Am affraid i dont know if there is any kind of adjustment on the brava clutch because its hydraulically actuated, i assume not as they normally self adjust.

If it is the clutch and you're doing it DIY you could do it for around less than £100, it does mean removing the gearbox though.

the clutch fork can rattle at idle. try pressing on it with your finger to see if the noise stops. if it doesn then you know its the fork rattling.

the fork is the thing that the slave cylinder on top of the gearbox pushes.

ok update on the plugs,
fitted the new plugs and the sluggishness has gone,im going to chnge the leads as it can only do good for the car,
regarding the gears, its only so often its difficult to get into 1st only,no other gear, just 1st gear,it sems fine when car is off,its had a new clutch fitted so cant see it being that to be honest.
the car has been stood for a couple of months though so maybe that its just starting to lube itself again i dont know,i have ot go for a decent drive in it today so will update when i return.
when u say press on it with finger,u mean the pedal or the clutch itsself?
i only have to put the slightest pressure on the pedal and it stops and its not a bad noise, just a slight rattle, the engine is still really quiet and runs like a dream now i done plugs though.

i mean the clutch fork. its the thing that the slave cylinder pushes (on top of the gearbox). when there is a gap between these 2 parts the fork will rattle. you can sometimes move the slave clyinder to close the gap.
