Suddenly the thread title makes sense again :p

I have two barrels in the shed too might have a play.

How did you get the cap back on out of interest? I fixed mine a while back and push the sides of the cap with a blunt braddle.

well thats the trikey bit balansing the door and spring wile pushing it back on
then wile someone hold it ar a g clamp tap the 4 lugs back in

if your careful to remove it leaving as little distortion as posible it makes it easier but in my experience you will never get it back quite as tight as fiat did but it holds on and works ok

you will find you can put he spring and pin back in 2 diferent ways

and one way will not fully close the door how ether putting it the correct way makes it almost impossible to hold it in place wile putting the lid back i find that if you pass a loop of strog thread up the lock from bottom and loop the lid you can hold it against the spring and put the lid on quickly then remove thread carefully

idle control valve came and so did heater resistor and i put a bulb in the glove box light idles perfectly now

and i just ordered all the stereo bits i need

head unit
140watt small sub with built in amp to fit under seat or hide somewhere
all 6 speakers to be replaced

edit:
oh no it's idling at 1500 again

so i changed the throttle position sensor aswell off the throttle body i had got and still the same

water temprature wile it's doing this on examiner shows 89 so normal for a warm engine and the target idle 850 or round there air flow seems to move up and down with differing engine speeds but i wouldn't know that's normal Haven't got the data

eventually it drops to normal idle but if you blip it past to 2000 it drops back to 1500 again for a wile

only when warm weird

yaaay fixed the dodgy idle

turned out that the pipe running through the throttle housing for water to bleed from the stat to the header tank was completely blocked

so there may have been air building up round the temprature sensor causing it to think it's cold bringing the idle up

i also cleaned out the throttle housing aswell and a large amount of oil in the inlet manifold so i'll need to look at the breather/oil seperator probably filled with carbon
