General erratic idle when starting w reg bravo

when it is started it idles to 3k rpm + :bang:.
its the 1.2 16v with 50k odd on the clock.
what could this be & how can i sort it?

check for a vacuum leak (cracked or split on any of the pipework before the throttlebody.

try cleaning inside the throttlebody.

try adding washers between the idle speed controller and the throttlebody. for some reason this trick usually works.
