Hi all, Thanks for the reply's...

No: 5.

No 5 again.

No: 4.

No 3.

No 2.

No 1.

the engines been swapped over now and the car is running, but there are still some small issues to resolve

work that's been done :

recon engine
new water pump
new belts, cam belt, ancelry belts, and tentuners
nearly new clutch put on it
new thrust bearing
new clutch slave cylinder as it was leaking
new plugs
air filter
new oil and new gear box oil
there was a split pipe to the vis system that was changed

The car is running now but he isnt 100% happey with it and wants to solve the remaining 2 issues

1) the VIS system it's pulsing which is making the diaphragm actuator arm knock, it doesn't do it all the time it's intermittent and only happens while the engine is tick over,
2)another annoying issue is a buzzing throttle servo motor (this is that buzzing issue i talked about, he had 2 VIS fiat blocks up there, non of them buzz like this)

so any advice on the last two issues would be great

essentially it will step back up a gear when i get paid this month to finish off the work

good to see you got it working again!!

What have you done with the old block and head?

when you say it isnt pulsing, what do you mean exactly? what isnt pulsing, and why do you think it should pulse?

below 40C the VIS system is disabled, and at idle it should be in the off position.
the control unit only moves the solenoid valve to the on position when the engine load and rpm triggers it (approx 4500rpm, or earlier under full load).

any fault with the VIS system will illuminate the injection system fault light on the dash. is it staying illuminated with engine running?

sorry, should read "its pullsing, not its not.."
there is no errors or injection light on.....i think it may well be related to the buzzing

the old block and head have been put aside to be inspected by a independent assessor (legal reasons)

buzzing is usually due to a solenoid sticking. try freeing the butterfly valve by hand by moving it back and forth a few times.

Sorry, that made NO sense lol.
Want a dummy block so I can play around with different things on it, different mountings, etc

just a small update, its all done now, there was a issue with the twin speed fan relay/ecu thingy, as in it wasnt spinning up at all!

im due to get it back next week at some point...photos and updates soon!!

to dig a old out up!

10 months on, my partner is now the new owner of the bravo! its still a cracking car and has not given me or the missus a seconds problem since the engine swp over and all the additional work

it was crap that this had to happen, but i would have lost far more money buying a car on HP or going out and getting a new one

Was it worth it? yep, i have a mint bravo with all the big jobs done, all the little jobs done. (unlike the coupe!)
