Right i am giving my car one hell of a service next thursday and i was wondering what parts to change clean etc etc. i have started the list of what i am doing already but can everyone let me know if there is anything else:

oil
oil filter
spark plugs
cambelt
air fiter
flushing water system
thermostat

brake pads. brake discs

brakes where done about a month ago

cam bet tensionor is a must if your doing the cam belt.
may aswell do aux belts aswell.

top up all fluids.
Check tyres and tyre pressures.
Check exhaust for leaks

For a complete overhaul I would probably replace all the dampers, dependant on mileage the springs too. Flexible brake hoses, check and replace brake lines, a whole host of checks on the fuel system and brake servo system, clean out and re-grease wheel bearings, check / replace all rubber bushes and mountings, check and correct valve clearances, then check for blow by and do a valve seat re-cut if required, compression test to see what variation there is between cylinders and prescribe a solution depending on findings.

IMO for a complete overhaul it really is a BIG job!

dont repalce things for the sake of it. for example there is no point replacing the thermostat if it isnt stuck open/closed. if you had enough money to waste it like that then you wouldnt be driving an old fiat would you.

go through the service schedule, that tells you exactly what you should be doing.

i am on aboutr stuff like cleaning and greasing the boot latch. Little things like that. things people dont really know you should do
