cant get windscreen on insurance :(

well i only suffered minor damage, the roof is a bitch of a place because of the sunroof, there is a frame right where the dints are i have looked on mine and i know exactly what you mean..you cant just pop the dints out from underneath..when mine went i was quoted £350 for bonnet roof and wings painted ,but i just got the bonnet and wings done..the word "money pit" springs to mind and i just didnt want to put that much money in a car that isnt going to fetch millions when i sell it..lol

If its anything like a punto the sunroof will be a c**t to get out...had to replace one once..it must be the the first part of the interior that is put along with the headlining in pretty much meaning you have to take out loads of stuff just to get it out. On a punt that ended up being pretty much everything, Pillars, seats, loosened dash to drop it a bit IIRC...not a fun job took 2 days.

I had Speedy text me in the early hours of this morning telling me that the bonnet catch had failed but I never thought it would be as bad as this :(
Really gutting to see My ol' Bravobeastie in such a mess

And for the record, when I sold it.. It had a red bonnet catch that you had to reach under the bonnet and pull towards you to release it, after you had pulled the lever inside the car.

Words fail me, I wish I'd never sold it now

oh kay thats terrible

normally happens if some one hasn't shut bonnet properly
if you dont grease the catch at least once a year it gets very stiff, then when you dont slam the bonnet shut with force it looks shut but it is actually only stuck on the catch and the locking pin hasnt moved in to position.

lesson to learn people, it is critical that you grease the mechanism annually and always slam the bonnet shut from a good height. i know i always go on about lubricating hinges and locks etc but there is a good reason all that stuff is in your service schedule.

the roof dents are pretty bad, and ive no idea how they can be fixed :(

drop roof lining, remove sunroof chassis, and then push it back out by hand, then any creases or cracked paint needs to be sanded down ready for the respray. there are very few cases where the roof would need to be filled because you have such good access to the panel from below to push it out, and its a soft flat(ish) panel. difficult part is getting the sunroof chassis to fit perfectly again if the roof is still ever so slightly bent, my advice would be to use plenty of sealant all the way around it.
