another ? from me,
bought my hgt last week with front end damage for £200,

still runs and drives fine part from blown water pipe.

and have been told will pass its mot if the headlights are alinged,
which they are not, so does anyone no what the standard is to pass mot,

the damage is to the front cross member, i'm just waiting for a quote on fixing just want to keep driving till i get it done.

wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to get the slam panel from the scrap yard and fit it your self.

around £20 - 30 for the slam panel and around 3 - 4 hours fitting it i reckon

Its the cross member thats been bent slam panel is bent but need to cut out and replace and weld in new cross member.

how had did the bloke crash it. isn't the slam panel bolted in

for MOT the lights only need to be secure, undamaged and aligned.

i hope you fixed the water pipe, without coolant it will overheat quickly.

Slam pannel is bolted, but the main crossmember which is part of the main structure is bent bout 20mph into a bollard showing off i think,

have alinged the lights and they are bot secure so fingers crossed will pass mot.

water pipe is all fixed now and no problems part from cut fingers and hands,
and the fact i was only 1/4 from home when it went, means it didn't overheat at all so should be all good.
