well it a bit wierd dunno, i have said about it before it was doing it quite alot in cold weather making a running water sound on start up, been told head ok, and the car not loosing power i got to use to my old car and it running fine. But it was using abit of water not much but kept topping it up once a month as it was nealry on min, well since it been hot i had my heaters on cold, and it never made that sound and also check my water from about 3 weeks ago and hanst use any extra, so i guessing it must be something to do with my heater matrix now not sure, but as soon as i took my water cap off it made that sound again yet water ok, the oils fine not sure wot it is. The engine 1.2 16v if that helps:confused:

as silly as it sounds next time we have a lot of rain lift the bonnet and check under the scuttle panel for standing water its common on some cars (not sure about the brava/bravo) for the drain holes in the body work to become blocked and water to pool and slosh about whilst driving likewise check the door and boot drains are clear..

The indications dont show any head gasket failure and its normal to refilling some water after couple of months. Dont worry its not a problem but some air has trapped into the cooling pipes and when you start (and only that moment the running water sounds) the car, you hear the gurgling sound. Try to bleed the cooling system to remove any air that is trapped in there.(y)

You have an air bubble within the cars cooling system, it'll sound like its coming from behind the dash, the water coolant needs bleeding, asap to be honest. Otherwise HG failure could occur.

But then you need to find out where is the coolant going? Do you have a leak? Also if the leak is internal it could be dripping onto your airbag ECU from the heater matrix, if it is then your airbag ECU will get fried.

Either way needs sorting quick, not an expensive job at first but if left could lead to lots of money being spent on bigger repairs caused by the leak.

Similar problem here, but I also have some liquid dropping onto the drivers wheel arch..

If it is your coolant it may only leak under pressure so remember that if your looking for a leak on a cold engine. If the leaks big it'll leak when cold too.

i had the same problem and i ended up with water pump failure. i changed the water pump and it was fine after.

I have to agree with the water pump, had the wooshing/sloshing sound on my old 1.4 bravo, then a week or so later it overheated, then I couldn't get it to bleed out properly. Took out the waterpump and the impeller blades were totally worn away. Was on about 90k i'd guess, replaced it and no more problems.
