General Break Warning Light

So.. i drive a 1.4 12v 98edition Brava and the break warning light was flickering every now and again....well,just got back from the service garage...and the guy said that the reason that the break warning light on the dash was flashing was because I need new break pads and discs! great oh well...he also said that the shock absorbers are finished so im gettin those replaced too....gona cost me 220Euros in total ...oh well, thats what you get from the crappy maltese roads! If any of u have eva been to malta and driven here, you'll know what i mean lol

just wanted to let ppl know that aparantly it is quite dangerous driving with broken shock absorbers because the car tends to be all over the place...in fact, everytime im breaking at a corner, the car tends to swing to one side of the road! quite scarey!!

Sounds like a scary expierence! As for the flickering indications, yes the mechanic told you the truth, you need new brake pads and if it is necessary change the brake discs but my opinion is change also the discs once you doing the pads!

yup in fact the discs are badly worn too

Yes it can be very dangerous with shocks in that condition and shouldn't really drive when they are that bad!
