Hi Mates!

A freind of mine has just acquired a 1.8 Bravo HLX but she's struggling with the position of the pedals. As a former Brava driver I know they're at a bit of a funny angle but I never really had an issue with them.

The question is, is there any way to adjust them (i.e. lower them so that they're at a more comfortable angle)?

Thanks.....

Does she realise the seat goes forward and backwards via the handle under the seat and up and down via the handle on the side of the seat. The pedals are touching the floor almost, when pressed they do touch the floor at the rear of the bulkhead. Unless she's got size 1 feet she really shouldn't have a problem.

Yeah, I'm pretty certain she has a good grasp of how to adjust a seat.

To be honest I always found the pedals on my Brava set quite high and it's not just confined to the Brava as I find the ones on my Panda set at, what I consider, an odd angle.

I guess the most owners are used to it or get used to it but I just wanted to know if anyone knew of a way to adjust them.

you cant adjust the pedal position, but you cna make the accelerator pedal sit slightly lower if you make the cable longer at the throttle body and then adjust the screw under the pedal to make sure you can still acheive full throttle.

It could for any of the two reasons. You will be risking yourself to stretching the accelerator cable causing it to snap much sooner than it should or risk damaging the throttle potentiometer due to overstressing.

Depends on your car which you'll damage as some of the Bravo's if not most have a fly by wire accelerator, some have cables still. I had a 1.8 Bravo and im pretty sure the 1.8 is fly by wire and not a cable.

all 1.8 are cable on the bravo/a (only mk2 20v has fly by wire). you wont stretch the cable if you adjust it at the throttlebody, you lengthen the cable at the throttlebody (pull clip off, adjust length, refit clip) and then adjust the pedal's screw. when you're finished you check that the pedal hits the floor at exactly the same point that the butterfly valve is fully open. i did this on both my bravos. on my 1.8 the butterfly valve was only opening 80% when i bought it, so after doing this is was a lot quicker.

My JTD is fly by wire ;)

Thinking about it, yeah the 1.8 was a cable. But just to correct you Jug, the

1.2 16V CF3
2.0 20V 155
1.9 105JTD CF2
1.9JTD CF3

are all fly by wire.
