Hi all,

I have just got my Brava 1.6sx sorted with a replacement injector but...

...now there is a problem at idle where the car revs up to 2000 rpm or so and the drops down to 1500 and then strarts to blip the throttle between 500 and 1000 rpm.

Is this likely to be a throttle posiotion sensor problem?

If not what else could be at fault?

it could be a leak if you didnt replace the rubber rings on end end of each inejctor, you need to determine if they are all ok when the fuel rail is off and replace any that are several worn. you can test if that is the problem using some engine oil, put a few drips on each inejctor where it could be leaking to see if it settles the idle.

also check for any other vacuum leaks anywhere on the intake.

the idle speed controller is a common problem on the 1.6, try replacing it with a scrapyard one, or try cleaning your throttle body and idle actuator first.

sometimes it takes a few journeys for the ecu to relearn the idle after a reset, so it may cure itself soon.
