Hello

My Bravo currently has 14” 5.5J Steel rims Tyres 175/65/R14
So I have been looking at getting some 15” 6J Alloys Tyres 185/55/R15 Offset 35 PCDx98
but 3 things have me worried.

1- The circumference change. Originals would be 1831.86mm new would be 1836.26mm that’s a difference of +4.40mm or 0.24%
So driving at 30Mph my speedometer would show 29.93Mph.
At 200Mph it would show 199.52Mph.

Also the odometer after 100miles would only count 99.76 miles.

Small differences but I would like other people’s opinions. Are the dials that accurate anyway?

2- Tyre pressure, how do I figure out the pressure for the new wheels? (32psi for the old wheels)

3- Would the new tyre/rim width have an affect on the suspension steering alignment.

Cheers
Adrian

I used http://www.dakota-truck.net/TIRECALC/tirecalc.html to compare wheel sizes.

1. that difference is insignificant and far smaller than your speedo inaccuracy, actually it will make your spedo more accuare because they always read over by approx 5%.

may i suggest 195/50/15 tyres, i had them on my bravo and they were great, more grip and firmer ride and even cheaper too.

2. it is personal choice and depends on your driving style. 35psi would be good especially if you do high speed or take heavy loads.

3. your camber will be affected, but only by a very small and insignificant amount, even if you lowered it 45mm it would still be an insignificant amount, so dont worry about it, you wont have excessive wear on the inside edge.

Thanks Jug, that clears it all up for me :)
My current tyres are almost new so I think ill take my time to find the right wheels.

I replaced my melting plastic door handels with Marea Black hard plastic handels when I first got the car. They are a million times better.

I have had no luck with the passenger wing yet, but there is one out there somewhere I know it.
