On Friday when i pulled up outside my house (lucky for me) my clutch went. I didnt know until then that it had a hydraulic clutch that fed off the same resovoir as the brakes, I had been losing brake fluid for about a month but didnt have the spare cash to have it looked at so i just kept filling it up and booked it in the garage for the end of the month.

A friend of mine said that he thinks it the thrust bearing that has gone and says that it gonna cost me £400 ;) to have fixed. Does that sound about right? or is it gonna cost less, im hoping that its just a pipe that has burst but i'll see tomorrow when the garage come pick it up.

why did fiat change to hydraulic clutches, whats wrong with cable ones???.

i'll let you all know how it goes

its almost certainly the clutch slave cylinder thats leaking.

ok, so the garage promised me that they would pick up the car first thing and have it back to me by 3pm, they turned up at 12.30pm !!! when i rang the garage at 3pm the told me that it was just going up on the ramp. they rang back about 15 mins later and said that the problem was the clutch slave cylinder and surrounding hydraulics that had failed but assured me that they would have the car fixed and ready for me to goto work for 4.30pm. when i got down there they said there had been a mix up with the parts they ordered and that they wouldnt have the correct parts until tomorrow. As you can imagine i wasnt impressed so i kicked up a real s**t storm. not only did i get a free taxi to work (and back) but they also only charged me £55 for the work and labour.:). cant wait to have my baby back home where she belongs.
