iv just bought a 1999 bravo hlx. what the hell does it stand for? and what extras does it give you from the standard bravo? wb jamie

stands for something like High Luxury..

think the extras are the heated seats and electric mirrors and nicer looking interior and the bumper with fogs and headlight washers and a sportier looking grill but thats about it.

I like HLX to stand for High Level eXtras... No doubt it's some Italian thing though

does anyone know where i could get a new grill. theres a hole in the black plastic mesh and i cant seem 2 find anywhere that sells the sportier grill. wb jamie

They are not easy to come by, i think the HGT grill might be the same as the hlx but i could be wrong, why not get a marea grill?

or go custom

that custom grill is mint!! did u do it youself of did u buy it?

Can't believe you left out alloy wheels aswell!

P.s There is no sport grille. The Bravo MK2's have all the same grilles. MK1's have a different one. The Brava's also have a different grille MK1's where boring and ugly, the Brava MK2 has a nice chrome insert.

Are you sure that the hole isnt for the towing eye?

no deffinately not. the toeing eye is on the bumper next to the reg plate. the grill is definately cracked!

HLX also gets ABS brakes, much better seats, better steering wheel, front foglights, and most importantly of all less assistance on the power steering so you can actually drive the car properly, rather than simply pointing it in the right direction and hoping for the best.

Yup almost all the same extras as the HGT, the HLX is a great spec.
