What will hepend if i drive the car with failure thermostat? The car is going well.

car will still drive ok, but you will be using more fuel as the temp is below optimum. And you will be killing polar bears in the process.

If you are stoped and the engine is running the temperature after a while is going to the middle or not? If it goes in the middle and then you move the car and the temperature falls, that means that your thermostat has stuck open and needs replacing! If not the above and you give a bang above the dash and the temperature goes to correct indication then i suggest you the link from the fiat BOO : http://www.bravo-guide.co.uk/photoga...tempdial_2.pdf
The problems that you are going to have is that the car sences that the temperature is under the willing and it consumes more gasoline(because it thinks that the engine is cold), and you propably in the future you are going to have a head gasket problem, so i advice you to fix it soon.I hope to short it out mate!(y)

As others have said your thermostat is nearly certainly stuck open.

Aside from the increased fuel consumption and emissions, engine wear shall also be accelerated as the oil won't reach its correct operating temperature. Additionally the heater won't have as much oommph.

When the car idle it goes at the midle, and when i drive it goes down. I have a good oil temperature about 90c. When tha car is under hard acceleration it goes to the midle. Thet thermostat is about 70euro in my country, so I'll bang the thermostat tomorow and let u know what happend.
Thanks for reply

Bang the dash above the display... in case the needle was stuck. NOT the thermostat. You could take it off and test it works by heating it in a pan in the stove with a thermometer you could see what temp it opens at or if it remains open all the time. However as your going to loose water and let air into the system... which could cause airlocks and other problems if not bled properly. I would suggest either getting a 2nd hand unit or a unit from a motorfactors... non fiat OEM replacment... should be cheaper.

I think that i have water temp sender failure. When the car idle temp goes at middle and when start to drive only for 1 minute the temp goes down. So, i will measure the water temp with multimeter to be sure. What is the correct themperature of the water? 90c???

if the thermostat is stuck open then 1min after you start driving the gauge should read much lower because the radiator is an effective cooling device and your thermostat can no longer isolate the radiator.

Take the thermo off, (is it open/closed) dump it in boiling water (does it open anymore - we know it does) dunk it in cold water (does it close) i'd buy a replacement as your going to have to do the job twice if its your only car, my motorfactors would let me take it back if i didnt need it... yours might if you ask nice.

I have just had mine fixed, ahh, warm air!!! It has been knackered since I bought the car in 2001. Oh well.!

I change the thermostat with new one but still the temp is low. I don't know what to do....
:bang:

its time to bang your fist above the gauge. the coolant temperature sensor could also be faulty.

I try to bang the gauge but nothing happend. Where can i find that coolant temperature sensor???

the bit in the red circle is the coolant temperature sensor, thats the sensor that sends the signal for your temp gauge. try replacing it with a scrapyard part.

Use a multimeter to test the temperature senders resistance at cold and warm and compare with the expected readings available in the workshop manual.

The temp sender on my 1.4 screws into the thermostat. Just pop the plug off, although seeing what you're doing may be difficult.
