Hi all

i was chattin to some m8s online and on the cinq the air filter box the one that is fitted as standard on sporting u could easily drill holes to inprove air flow on the front i.e. the bit nearest the bonnet this would also make it sound beafy like an induction kit well people say it would but would it actually make that deeper noise??
btw the holes are min of 20mm!

cheers

Andy

It might do....guess you'd have to try it.
I don't know where the air filters located on your car, is it right in front of the grill or behind the engine (you don't want to let hot air coming over the engine into the air intake).

Problem is, if you drill holes in the front of the airbox, as Si says, it'll be directly above the exhaust manifold. I'd have thought you'd be better off putting a replacement panel filter in, sorting out the breather (give me a shout if you want info) and modifying the existing inlet to the airbox by putting on as large a diameter tube as possible (say 2") down to fresh air behind the bumper on the passenger side.
The arrangement I've got on mine is only of any benefit when you're moving, otherwise it draws in too much hot air.
