I have a '99 1.8Hlx with an recurring intermittent starting problem. Doesn't matter if the engines hot or cold or what the weather's doing my car will sometimes start on the key or sometimes only after 2 or 3 or 4 attempts. I have had an opinion on what it might be from another site and I'm just after a second opinion. The car is otherwise in great condition and runs perfectly! If it starts, it's immediate. Otherwise the motor just turns over and doesn't sound as if it's trying to catch. The main dealer has had it for a day and can't find anything wrong. Their plan is to replace parts until the problem goes away! Help?

im no expert bout this kinda stuff but cud it be the immobiliser?? does the 'Code' light swith off when it doesnt start?

i wud imagein if u taking it to a dealer then they wuda chk'd that but is just a thought...
