i was js wonderin from stock whether bravo 1.6 is da faster 1.6 stock around coz not many 1.6's i kno can keep up wid 1ne. u guys reckon it can beat a polo 1.6?

i think the clio 1.6 16v is a touch faster and the suzuki ignis sport defonatley is and that is 1.5 16v but niether look as nice as the bravo

Seat Leon 1.6 16V is also pretty fast. Nothing special though..

But the Golf V 1.6 is a total crap. Even my 1.2 is faster in the first 2 km :)

I was quite surprised at how much power the Brava 1.6 16v had. I used to drive a 1.6 sierra with 75 bhp, it wasnt enough to pull the pubes from an old granny!

Just picked my Brava up from a full service and valeting and thought I would just go a couple of miles before home to check everything was ok. Just got back after being out nearly two hours I had forgotten how good it was to drive (I love my Brava)

There are a lot of 1.6 cars that will be equal to or beat the Bravo/a :(

I would write them but it would be a long list.

The 1.6 produces 100 bhp which is average for a 1.6 DOHC 16v engine.

For example Renaults 1.6 16v is 110bhp as is Citroen/Peugeot's 1.6 16v

a bravo 1.6 16v would never beat a lupo gti! its got 125bhp and weighs as much as my cat!!!
its no faster than any other 1.6 16v but obviously theres a difference between 8v and 16v.
i was claiming the lupo gti is faster than the bravo. not raced one or anything but they seem to fly. on carfolio.com the figures arent that impressive really. but as you say wieghs as much as my left shoe and had the bhp to boot

iv got a 2001 brava 1.9 JTD ELX, not many equaly sized family cars can keep up and iv annoyed a few suposedly high bhp bmw up a few hill aswel, its not the bhp of the JTD's its the shire amount of tourqe, we also have a 2000 brava 1.2 SX, that is allso like s**t of a shovel, its been known to leave 1.6 escorts and 1.4 306 and so on driven by boy racers for dust, WE LOVE ARE BRAVA'S

more worrying, the 1.4K has 103bhp and a noted 0 - 60 time of 10.5s (10s in ZR setup) and has been known to give scares to a lot of larger engine cars.

Used to have a 214SLi and that engine is the one thing I miss the most (followed by the comfy interior and high spec)
