Morning all,

When I was closing my bonnet hood yesterday I stupidly held onto one side of the grill instead of in the centre  - result, it has pulled away slightly leaving a very narrow but unsightly gap about six inches long.

Anyway does anybody know of the best sort of glue to seal that part of the grill back onto the bonnet - I don't want to have to get new parts etc if at all possible.

Cheers in advance.

its bolted on in 3 places, you have bent the metal where it bolts on, bend it back into the correct position careefully and its fixed.

If its just a bent backing plate then bend it back, otherwise..

I've said it before and will probably say again Tiger seal, tigerseal, tigerseal.
Or any similar products. Is by far the best type as its flexible and paintable. Anyone who says it doesn't stick is wrong :p or hasn't let it cure. properly. (y)

OK, cheers for the info and advice. I tried unbolting the grill but the nuts were sealed tight (even after a healthy dose of WD40), so went for the brute option of glue and Halfords touch-up pens for any scratched areas.

The main difficulty was getting the glue into extremely narrow gap and not all over bonnet and grill. A word of warning, the Evo-stick 'Timebond' I used (had already bought it before seeing glue advice above) first of all spills out the tube like olive-oil, then when it hits the air congeals and strands almost instantly - making it a nightmare to use for this particular task!

Anyway I persevered and first impressions of repaired area are quite good - though will have to see effects of prolonged driving, car-washes etc.

Thanks again for all the interest and help.
