My bravo is spluttering when stationary but appears to be fine whilst driving or revs get over 2000. Whilst stationary it is also blowing out loads of blue smoke that smells a little like parafin.

Can anyone help me as to what may be the problem???

ps.The car has done 75k miles

Has anyone got a fix for this as mine is doing it now

Is it white or blue smoke?

White is related to low engine temperature, retarded/incorrect fuel pump timing, blue is obviously oil being burnt.

If it's more white than blue, you may have a hosing/leaking injector. Whilst the engine is running, slacken off the fuel pipe nut going to each injector one at a time. If that injector is good, you should notice a drop in engine revs. If one cylinder makes little difference to the way the engine is running, that's the culprit.

Be careful when slackening off the nuts as the diesel is under high pressure. Make sure you don't get diesel squirted under high pressure onto your skin. WEAR GLOVES.
