Ok so going to be replacing my clutch when i do the timing so just going to drop the engine out as going to replace some seals and do the clutch and a load of other wee jobs.

But cant seem to find any options for replacing the clutch, shop4parts ect have 1 fiat 20v one, dont know if its a 147 or 155. Surely there are other better? options?

So just to see what my options are and what peoples advise would be on it.

Obviously looking to replace the whole clutch kit.

Info for those who dont know its a Nov 2000 Bravo HGT 155 2.0 20v.

i like LUK clutch kits. the quality is good and so is the price. i've used them several times.

the same clutch kit is used on 147 and 155 models.

you need LUK-623090300

should cost approx £100 (dont compain, its your own fault for having an HGT :p )

to save money you could get a remanufactured no namer, but i wouldnt.

LUK clutch kit at my local motorfactor for the 1.8 is £55. when i said that seems expensive he said the HGT costs about £100 so i should think myself lucky.

That is so unfair, i got a luk clutch when i did mine (would have prefferred valeo though) and the guy charged me £100 for the kit. (fitted it myself so no labour charge obviously.) might as well be drivimg an HGT

arent the EBC Standard Clutches better

there can be no definitive answer to that unless we do some thorough testing, and obviously we cant do that. in my opinion both are of the same quality, both are to the same oem spec, and both are reliable well known brands. EBC usually cost more because they are more well known. personally i dont think brand familiarity and higher pricing automatically means better quality or spec. my choice would be the cheapest of the 2.

looks like the turbo clutch is only 5mm bigger? wondering more if it would fit now
thats only a 2.5mm excess around the entire flywheel so maybe it would fit. i cant see how thats of any benefit because the extra plate material wont be in contact with anything so overall friction will be the same. i assume the turbo clutch will also have stiffer plate springs which makes engagement sharper (which feels better, especially on a standing start) so there could be some benefit. personally i wouldnt bother.

Ok checked and its 230mm, fiat wanted initially £140+VAT for a reccon clutch.... i said NO i wanted a new one, £180+VAT... eeek, could have got a Valeo one for £111+VAt

So ordered that EBC one as it gets decent reviews and was cheaper than the others. And had no option of the performance ones.
