ive got a mk1 bravo 1.6 sx and it doesnt have fog lights. im going to be fittign an abarth front bumper onto the car and some fog lights. how hard will it be to wire up. and where will i mount the switch? i asume the bits of plastic next to the rear window rear fog buttons are also made into buttons?

any help much appreciated.

the wiring should be there, but you'll need to get a swtich plate from a model with the fog switch on.

i think you'll need to fit a fuse in the appropriate fusebox slot, and the relay.

argh.
this means a trip to a scrap yard, and im yet to find one that doesnt just crush the cars around here!
thanks for the help

the other option is to wire them up using your own switch and wiring and skipping the use of a relay.

you could do it the very quick and easy way, run a live wire from the battery to a 30A fuse, thenon to the positive terminal of the 1st fog. add a second wire from the neagtive of the first fog to the positive of the second. now run a third wire from the negative of the second fog to inside the car and into a switch (any 12v switch will do). then run another wire from the switch to a good earth. easy peasy.

In LHD bravos there's a relay mount for the fogs behind the glove box.

I should have a manual somewhere - I'll post it here.

Hi jug - wouldn't you rather split the wire (parallel connection) rather than extend it (serial connecton)?

yes i would, but for simplicities sake i went for the easiest option.
wiring lights in series will make them less bright (due to the voltage drop).
parallel is better.

No Jug , He Must Use A Relay. I Seen People Do Like You Say And Set Fire To Car When Switch Gets Hot. Silly Idea! Wheres He Gonna Be If The Switch Makes Poor Conxn , A Possible Fire !!!!!

I might be able to save a trip to the scrapy on that:) just so happens i have said switch panel,in pristien condition.:)

i am switching my MK2 sx bumper to the ELX and got a MK1 switch pannel.

But one of the plugs are diffrent(n) i need a MK2 pannel.

So i have one here if you are intrested?

There is a plug behind the pannel there for it ,and a plug down in the left hand side wiring loom for the front lights.
