my brava 1.2 is constintly showing the engine block light (engine electrics) can any body suggest what seems to be the problem for this?
The only other issue is that the car seems to loose power when accelerating and then gives a sudden surge of power.

the possibilities are pretty endless. a diagnostic check will reveal the fault code (if one has been logged in the ecu). if no fault code is logged it usually means lambda sensor problems.

the lambda sensor measures oxygen content in the exhaust fumes. if you're not very knowledgable when it comes to cars you're best off going to the dealer for a diagnostic. unfortunately the average cost for a diagnostic is £65 and there's no guarantee they will be able to find anything wrong.

1.2 what year might be a later CF3 and OBD compatible. Thus meaning you might be able to get a cheap diag done at a place you trust.
