Hi again

Recently took fiat to mechanic since my petrol pump went dead, also asked him to arrange one of brake lights which had stopped working (wiring prob not bulb) and told me he would get electrician to look at it.

Now i got the car back, but my digital mileage counter has not been working since, it simply does not light up. If i squint and stare at it from certain angles i can see the numbers are there (car's current mileage and trip) but dont show at all since they are not illuminated. He gave me electrician's number but I would like to sort this myself as it seems to be something minor (some fuse or wire he might have forgotten to reconnnect). Rest of display works fine by the way. Thx for reading.

sounds like the digital display's lightbulb has blown. i think there's a guide on fiatboo website.

blown? it was working perfectly fine when i took it in to change fuel pump and fix brake light! sounds like a strange coincidence to me if it did

Mines blown to. And my dads did on his renault. Common problem with bad elctronics on cars.

it suggests the ignition was switched on when something (like a nasty spark) occured. if the battery was disconnected during the work this could not have happened.

Have you tried tapping it.

I hit the right hand side of my dash, I can get the milo thing to light up, hit the left I can get the airbag light to go out lol.

Its all coincidence - so take out the dash and replace the bulb..

Aye, my Mileage counter light doesnt work either

update:

today while driving back home mileage counter came back on and has been working so far. i was surprised, to say the least. only thing i've done to the car is install an alarm system yesterday. Still wasnt working after far as i know. Hope it keeps working now. But stumped as to what is going on
