Hi guys, wondering if you could shed some light on the braking subject.

Been reading thru a couple of posts on here about upgrading my disks to the coupe 20vt ones. (the big f**kers). I read that it looks like that most of it is direct replacement, but do i need anything else like the resiv, hoses, etc??

Also how about the rears?

Many thanks

afaik the caliper mount will bolt directly onto the hub. the caliper's flexi hose will connect to the original copper pipe. you dont need anything else.

there's a good recent thread about the rears somewhere (with rear hub comparison pics). have a search. (y)

The one thing you definately need is...... wheels that will clear the caliper ;)

It has been mentioned on several occasions to me that its tricky finding wheels that will bolt to the hub without interfering with the caliper.

I dont know what wheels you have at the moment though so I dont know if this will effect you.

Well ATM i currently have just standard HGT's, but i'm looking to get myself a set of speedlines in the similar width - size to the 4 spoke 20vt ones. ( im assuming that they are 17x7.5)? If not i'll have a scout about!(y)

What do you have to do with the back ones though? Are they upgradeble?

the brembo's will not fit on the HGT hubs.

when doing the conversion you will need practically the whole front end of a coop.

best bet would be to find a smashed up one and take everything from it, then sell the interior and any panels to get your money back (y)
