It looks like the t-cut is fairly abbrasive and has caused dulling due to lots of micro scratches which need polishing out with a less aggressive polish. Possibly the t-cut was aggresive and designed for spot application to remove scratches etc

Go to Wilkinson and buy some colour restorer polish £1.99 in a green bottle and try that. It should bring the paint up really nice and shiney. You can apply it with your polisher presuming you've got a clean mop i.e. no t-cut left on there (wash it in the sink with a little cloths washing power and hot water if needs be). When applying don't do it in direct sun or if the sun has been beating down on the bonnet because it'll dry too quickly. You could try misting a light spray of water while polishing to keep it lubricated (not to much). Get a plant sprayer from Wilko to do it. Polish until the product almost disappears, then buff off the remainder by hand with a Microfibre towel (MF), 99p from Wilko. If not a fair amount of elbow grease will be required.

Get a bottle of wax while your at it. Turtle wax will be just fine and apply once you've finished polishing. leave to dry for 15 minutes then wipe off with a clean MF.

All in all spend about £7-£10 and you should get the car looking tip top again - stand back and enjoy :D

Just taken another look at the picture and there is a fair amount of oxidation on there. The above method will work and will remove the oxidation (faded paint) - you'll see pain transfer onto your mop or cloth when polishing. You need to protect the bonnet from future dulling by regularly waxing - once every 3 months should be enough. Sounds like something out of a beauty saloon. (y)
