Well I've had prob the worst, most upsetting and stressful day ever.... but I've found prob the most helpful exhaust specialists ever (in my opinion).

Went and had a stainless exhaust made up for my mothers Saab... got a quote arranged a time & the price shot up from £180 to £400 once we got there.. agreed on a price of £250 and left the car for 2hr.

Got back and the exhaust was shocking... and i mean shocking.

Wasn't happy... so noisy and it wasn't the right shape either... there was no tail pipe, just the normal pipe cut off.

Said to the bloke "it's a bit noisy" with that he put the car bak on the ramp.... very moody keep exclaiming.. too noisy.. too noisy.. and said we had one last chance then he was gonna take it off.

well yes it was too noisy.... so he choped the exhauset off right by the cat then said "there'll be a charge for the work i've done!", we both said NO... you haven't done what we'd asked...so he threw my dad and me out the workshop.. closed the main door and locked us out and shouted "ur not getting ur car back then"

so we're left locked out this workshop not knowing wot was going on.... dad told the bloke if he doesn't put the old exhaust back on and give us the car back he'll call the police, with that the doors opened & he dumped the car out side and ran back in and locked it all up.

The exhauset wasn't attached just put back on with 2 hangers....

anyway my dad's now 130miles from home with no exhaust... found a tyre/ exhaust place up the road.. bloke too 1 look at it and said.. its "fooked" he's knackered the car.... gonna need a whole exhaust.... but theres another place up the road who make custom exhausts, go see them.....

The blokes were amazing.... they patched up the join the best they could and showed us what they can do for us. The other place (Sound Proof Systems) has ruiened the whole exhaust, and it's gonna cost over £1200 from Saab to replace it all.

This company is called Speed Steel... www.speedsteel.co.uk in Tipton, West Midlands, 0121 557 0951. Just mention the lad with the blue Saab and he'll know how u came by them, as they don't advertise, cos they are so busy just from word of mouth!

here's an example of just 1 custome exhaust they have made...

they have done a seicento, with a special flat box cos it was lowered... and they will do anything with just amazing craftmanship.

Have a look at the web page, give them a call... mention me and compair their prices. I have seen lots of exhausts over the years, as i use to sell them and these are prob the best i've seen and heard and the tanks and caps are faultless!!!

Sorry for the rant... but it's just upsetting that not all business's are like this place!

Why cant all business's be like the second place you went to? They would get so much better word of mouth and more business! The third place you went to i have heard of, and their work is absolutely spot on, cannot fault it. Pity they dont have a website! They use proper 318 grade SS too i believe, the better quality 316 is stil not as good as 318. They're all real works of art6 in themselves. Bad crack you had such a naf day, but the pics you've posted make up for it :p

Glad it all got sorted in the end. I would try and do something about the 1st place! Looks like a proper job in the end, heard powerflow do a similar thing.

Poorflow? powerslow? :p

I would never get a powerflow exhaust, one, becasue i can make my own cheaper, and two, i can makea better job. They are massively overpriced and they use a naff grade of stainless. One thin i cannot fault them on though is their wide range of differnt options, from tips to sizes and number of exhausts.

That on the other hand, is a very very nice seicento exhaust btw, looks top quality and its also weird becasue it was just today i was wondering where that website was that you had shown and was at a loss looking for it to show a mate how i can make something look. Freaky!

sounds like the first bloke was a right tosspot.

If he simply doesn't listen to the customer then he's not getting anywhere, and I love them when they mutter sht under their breath. My old head of year at uni did that, I wnt to see him to discuss some pretty major sht, and all I could hear before he came round the corner was "Well thats me being taken away from markign AGAIN" refering to the out of uni marking he was doing on uni time, so he was getting paid by uni for being a tutor (and this was a tutor drop in slot) and paid by AQA for marking gcse scripts:mad:

that cinq's flat box is well tidy!!!!

Cool!

I have a sei on 50mm and the centre section is pretty low lol...saying that, I'vr only ever fould the body work near the front jack points.

I am after a new exhaust though, and the MPI ones are tricky/impossible to get off the shelf in SS.

They are in my area roughly as well. Mind me asking how much it cost, does it have a warranty at all. Any probs with it since you got it? especially without the flex section!

yeah mate there only in tipton.

nah ive only had problems with it catching over speed bumps at the gym but there steep and long so it catches at the bottom. also broke the stainless in a complete circle (snaped it in half) at a petrol station as it caught on the petrol hole thing on the floor (where they put the petrol in underground) cuz they were raised and had people in the back.

Hi tommy nice pics, One question though where did you get that custom number plate from? Ive found a few online but nothing that I really like the look of so far..

Just seen how old the the thread is :/
