Ello every1!! I have just recently bought a Mk 2 Punto!! And i was wonderin, does anybody know if the rub strips (outside of door:rolleyes: ) are stuck on just with adhesive pads, or are they drilled on aswell??

Please help me !!!! thanks Alot :D

Use a hot air gun to heat and soften the strip (be careful that the surface doesn't melt, but a small temperature increase will have a big effect on the pliability).

You should find that the strips peel off fairly easily, as I don't think they will be bolted. The last FIAT I saw with the strips bolted on was my 126 (or, I suppose, my Bertone X1/9). In both cases those are much thicker, non-flexible mouldings.

Rub strips, bump strips - these terms I can understand. It's funny how there are so many names for the same part! I think someone in another post here called the door strips 'plastic door trims'. That confused me as an Uno owner - to me, that means the interior door panel

Also the idea of wanting a full overspray was exciting... usually for me, that's the bits of trim etc. that get a light spattery coating because I wasn't careful enough with the masking.

Hey, far be it from me to be overcritical of people's terminology :)

And Hellcat, I think you're right, I can't think of a very good reason to remove the rubbing bumpstrips myself...
