Fiat 500l 2014 right side turn lights

Hi, first time poster and I can't find a solution to this on search engines or on this site so would appreciate any support or guidance before I visit a dealership...

I have a 2014 right hand drive Fiat 500L and just today the right side indicator (turn light) warning came up on the dashboard. Both the front and rear indicators on the right hand side are not working when the indicator stalk is switched on the steering column but work in the following situations:

1. When the car is locked and unlocked with the key fob
2. Flash twice when hazard warning light is on
3. Flash once if the indicator is turned on immediately after the hazard warning lights are turned on you see the lights appear to be working in those circumstances only. My first thoughts were changing the bulb but then I've ruled this out given that they both work. I then thought fuse and relay (is that a bit old-hat!?) but am not sure. If anyone has any advice that will spare me a trip to the garage then it would be much appreciated. Cheers!
