As Fiat in their great wisdom  decided to provide new car owners with stupid non-locking fuel caps... :bang:

The part that I'm after is an original Fiat Stilo Diesel Fuel Cap complete with lock with a key that resembles that of the ignition. I've found a place which can change the pins in the lock so that it matches the ignition key. I feel that those working in Parts only really take a request seriously where you have done the research and have the part number already.

My local dealer was going to charge me £277 for the pleasure of inserting a lockable fuel cap  as if being female I couldn't do it myself, so naturally I bought an after-market product for about £15 instead. I now would dearly like to get rid of the extra key I'm now carrying...

And yes, I do drive a new Panda, but the Stilo fuel cap matches it size-wise, and although the Stilo now probably is fitted with the same stupid non-locking fuel cap, it did once have a lockable diesel version.

If I can get the right parts and it works out as planned, I'll post details back here... :D

ok, looking eper at the moment - there are 3 caps listed for the JTD stilo.

there are also two sets of stilo on there. 2001-2002 and then 2003 -

heres the screen dumps from the eper. the one that doesnt have the model data at the top (should be the one on the left!), is from the 2001-2002 section.

hope this helps
