you be in for a suprise, it took a half litre to do my bumper , so you looking at £20-£30 per half litre + primer + laquer

best wait till ben r comes along, he good at things like this :D

For the whole car you'll be looking at at least 2ltrs of topcoat & 2ltrs of lacquer. I don't know where all this £20-£30 business comes from( sorry chaps) but I can tell you you're looking at (for decent paints) £120-140 for the lacquer per litre & probably between £70 & £90 for the topcoat per litre! The prices I've given are for ICI autocolour & Glasurit 55 line. (y)

It works out something like £12/litre if you buy Halfords paint :p

Somehow I doubt that mate as they don't sell it in litre tins! :p I've only ever seen them sell spray cans which would be even more expensive! Plus you'd get a terrible finish! (n)

The last time I had a car (or part of a car) respayed was the bonnet of my Uno. £18 for a litre of Rosso red paint.

Which a) is a solid colour b) probably isn't ICI or Glasurit. Metallics & pearlescents are twice the price of solid colours plus you have to go over them with lacquer which is more expensive! I'm not saying you can't get cheaper paints which why I said in a previous post "the prices I have given are for ICI autocolour & Glasurit 55 line".

Not really & it'd be a lot cheaper if you have a solid colour. But then you can also get solid colour basecoats which still need a lacquer over the top, the advantage being these will never fade unlike solid colours! (y)
