Hi, I recently bought a Fiat punto and although it is in great condition I have a problem with both Wing mirrors. The previous owner must have either knocked into something on both sides or had that done to his car. Both mirrors have snapped plastic on the inside. They both have a snap just in front of a plastic sort of nut. The owner has just had them balancing on the car by using the rubber on the mirror arm onto the car. I need this fixing asap and have been looking at replacement units. The problem is though that it is actually the snapped plastic that is the issue, I could remove both mirrors and replace but the snapped plastic would still be there. Any help would be great and sorry for my lack of knowledge on the parts.

hi mark
open door
go to inside of mirror
pull rubber boot off if fitted
unscrew the large aluminium fixing
whilst here you will now see a triangled plastic where mirror is and where you've just undone the fixing
pull the little tag out bottom corner then see the philips screw
undo it
pull triangle off but be careful as they are brittle especially when cold

you will now see a large round black plastic ring
it has holes in it,get a good screwdriver and a hammer and tap it round until it becomes slack
no hold mirror outside and undo rest of thread
you can now pull mirror away from door

best thing would be to buy new mirrors and you will see how they fit if you are still confused

they are £15 new at my motor factors so dont get robbed or try ebay

Thanks for the help! I managed to fit both new wing mirrors within 20 minutes! Thank you.

Also I paid about £15 each on ebay including postage.
