Well most of us want to "Prevent" rust on our beloved Fiats

Not this one!

For those who do not know i am styling an old Fiat Panda 4x4 in a Post Apocalyptic style. The name of this project is:

Amongst all the things i need to do (even just to get it road worthy!) I am looking at Rusting parts of it. i'm not looking for a "Rat look" i want to take it to "Scrap look"

can anyone recommend me a good way of getting a realistic rust effect, yet keep the car protected from the elements.
