I've touched up a few of the larger stone chips with primer (from a tri touch up pen set) and have now got "blobs" that unfortunately lap over the existing paint..didn't realise at the time when it was wet :bang:

Whats the best way to get it smoothed out so I can continue and apply the main colour then laquer?

Saw "The Blob Eliminator" from Langka but they only accept credit cards

aup, i know you have already used the touch up pen, but i reccommend using a fine artists brush instead of the brush provided with the touch up, this will minimise the blemish. leave the touch up to dry and thoroughly harden for a least a week and then polish to blend the repair

£170 inc VAT for 8 large chips down to the metal and says he will touch up the rest for free (alot more minor ones + scratches) but guy from Fiat quoted around £100 to do 2/3 of them :nutter:

However the nice man from Fiat who persuaded us to get the Stilo says as I found most of them after I bought it (alot showed up after a good wash) I'm to give him my quote I recieved and he'll ring the guy who's repairing them and get me a nifty little discount (y)

The best way to touch up is 1 single coat of primer then go over that with the topcoat & then lacquer. Allow at least 24hrs to cure off & then gently rub down with some 1200 grit wet & dry until smooth. Use a cutting compound first then switch to a fine cutting polish then give a wax to bring back the shine. (y)

i could do with my bonnet doin, seems more expensive than i thought, (n) hummmm :chin: think i will av it done when i get my vent done

the whole front tip of mine is just speckled with tiny chips...not that bad but its annoying....How much you get quoted for it?
i aint had any quotes done yet, i gota find a bloody place that will fit me a vent first, a decent bodyshop is hard to come by in these parts it seems :(
ive had an F50 sat in the dining room for god knows how long and 3garages said they wont touch it 'too big of a job'/ 'wont fit it love' apparently!

I've noticed you have to travel to get things done these days....doubt it'll be cheap but maybe trying a mainstream bodyshop if the locals won't go near it. Bennyboy may be able to give you a rough idea at how much it will cost to do...worth a shot :)

Do you need to use a primer regardless. Also where would i get the super fine grit paper. I'm off to halfords to get the primer as i only got the touch up paint from fiat. Also according to fiat i dont need lacquer for my colour black so do i just sand down the paint once its dry and then use t-cut and wax to sort it out?

Halfords sell the fine grit paper dead cheap, and all I did was lightly sand it checking it after every pass of the sand paper and finished off with rubbing compound and wax
