Hi All,

Just a quick question:),Its probably been covered before but i just don't have time to go searching just at the minute:eek:,Sorry,

I have a couple of paint chips on the lip of my front wheel arches and iam keen to respray both sides before the rust sets in which i don't have yet....WOW lol,

The colour of my car is Imola Blue and when i go looking for spray paint on eBay most sellers are coming up with two Paint codes:confused:,

Ive had a look at around the vin plate area in the boot but i can seem to find the number 481 or 481a,

481

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300429727654?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649

481a

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/270582108038?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649

Can anyone please help

Cheers Don aka Scuderia.

Your paint code should be on the VIN plate in the boot under the carpet on the left hand side.

Take it to have have some mixed by your local paint suppliers as well, eBay Paint can be hit and miss as the blue pigment varies and doesn't take sun fade into account. Most places can scan your paint and colour match to that rather than mix to a code that ends up a few shades darker.

It's such a nice colour on the car it's well worth the extra effort.

All the best Rob

Hi Rob,

Thanks for your advice and reply:),

That's what i thought,

On the vin plate itself, which of the numbers is the Paint code number?,like i said in my post before this one i can't work it out as the number 481 is not present on the vin plate:confused:,so that now has me thinking that my code is not 481?,

Cheers Don

I've just found out the VIN plate is missing from my Cinquecento. Grrrrr! :bang:

Serves me right for trying to help while I'm at work.

Best bet is to find a Fiat dealer or paint supplier and ask them. My paint guy says "a" could be "acrylic".

That's not good Rob(n),but thanks for your input,i think i will go with 481,what have i to loose at £16.99,i can try it out first and see how much it will be out by if any before i do the whole underside lip of the arch?,

I will try my local paint store first though, although iam not sure they make up aerosol tins, hence why i was purchasing one from eBay,like i said its just the 10cm lip that's on the underside edge of the front arches so i doubt very much you will be able to notice it using a little edge blending tape even though its a shade out?,i ain't no body shop man:eek:,

Don, none of the numbers on the VIN are your paint code, there is a separate sticker for the paint code. IIRC in my Sei it's on the edge of the bootlid, not sure if that's where it is in the Cinq. Might be in the door jam.

Hi Eklipze,

Its funny you should say its a sticker?,as that's what Blu said on Facebook yesterday, he also thought it was the boot area,i will go and have another look laters,

Cheers Don

Well done. :)

Sorry I weren't much use in the end.

I hope nobodies cloned my car with the missing VIN. Imagining a world where there are two of them is the stuff of nightmares. ;)
