I am hoping to be getting my bumpers, spoiler and skirts painted, should i do the skirts and spoiler myself, and get the pros to do the front and rear bumper?

Or do i do it all myself and hope for the best. I dont think my colour is that hard to match, as a guy from chips away did a epic job cutting it back in and compounding it out...

Oh if i go with the pros anyone know anywhere in southwest london or surrey way that is renound?

The only place froms earching i can see it the place by red dot, but thats a bit of a trek for me.

Thanks guys :) :worship:

Research is your friend mate,

ive not resprayed a car, however ive looked into it alot, and from what i gather, prep is where its at, the more time you spend prepping, the better the job will be, start with a bad surface and itll go wrong from there on, as i said mate, googles your friend,.

As is the warmth. doing a respray in this weather is asking for trouble - unless you have a lovely, warm, dust-free garage.

Ive contacted a guy for you on another forum about getting the whole thing done for you, hes a professional painter that does it from home in his custom garage and this is the same guy that might be doing my bonnet for me at some point, il let you know what he says when he gets back too me

Chrikey thats cheap, is he any good though?

And where is he? i would so come travel for that price!!

Well hes said that hes resprayed full cars before and ive seen pictures of like bumpers and trims and stuff and it does look very good. and hes in liverpool mate. Like i said im thinking about getting my badboy done by him because he does accident repairs as well

yep as said... its ALLL in the prep. you could brush paint a well prepped car then spend a month with a machine polisher to get it like glass... ok maybe not that far but it is in the prep.

my dad painted hes rangerover years ago mediterranean green (metallic blue/green)

did it in the garden with a crappy compressor that couldnt keep up with the gun and it still came out mint as he spent weeks on the prep...
the paint had a bit of wild life land onto it but a day with the machine polisher and the job was better then a lot of professional paint jobs we have seen

I must say and with all respect, never read such crap in all my life, get it done by a good body shop if you want it right ,i been beating and painting for 26 years, and quality equipment and sundries will produce good finish,:D

i used to roller transit vans outside using readily available synthetic paint, once the paint had settled down you could not tell it had been rolled on:D
