And to be quite honest, them bumpers are awful. Now, I know someone who has a proper spraygun and can source me teh paints. But, he says it'll look fine from a distance, but poor(ish) close up due to the texture. What do y'all think? Has anyone done it?

Just cause trying to get bumpers (both front and rear) in my colour for a reasonable price is nigh on impossible!

Cheers,

Michael

I would leave it how it is, If you want a good paint job you will need to rub and smooth the bumpers. not worth painting if the paint job isnt going to be upto scratch.
If you come to see it with bad paint job on bumpers, people will wonder if its had a shunt and be put off by that.

He has a good point, just try and find some sporting bumpers to match the colour or something. Look in local scrap yards, should pick up some for quite cheap... Or just leave it normal.

I've only been to one, and they want £50 per bumper (so £100 for the set) is that about right? Or is that over kill? There's another, bigger scrappy near by which i need to venture down to

a few coats of etching primer should fill up the texture

Potential for Yarde Fail = Very High!

If you plastic prime them, then high build prime them they can then be sanded so smooth you wouldnt even know they had texture (y)
I guess youre in Newcastle up north rather than Staffordshire???

Regards

Richie

p.s if you have them done propley it will transform the look of the car no end.

I'm an absolute noob when it comes to stuff like this, so talk very slowly with long pauses!

It does indeed, the jealously I have when I see a SPorting in my colour drive past makes me want to run them off the road with a tactically placed side swipe and remove the bumpers from the smoldering wreckage
