right i have an idea for my dash (the whole dash) and have 2 options......

1. either take the whole dash out and not be able to drive the car a few days till customisation is done. or....
2. take the dash out my old car and work on that dash and still be able to drive the car i wish to use the custom dash in.

Seems simple choice really but the thing is the old car id take the dash out of is a mk2 punto (5door) elx, the car i want it to go in is the exact same (punto mk2 elx but its a 3door. so would this fit or not?
also the 5door one has a passenger air bag on it but the 3door im driving now doesn't so could i wire that airbag up? also would all wires and electrics work fine if i used the 5door dash on my 3door.

please say it will fit. then i can take my time on work on the dash, rather than rushing because i wont have a car to drive.

any help tips and advise is much appreciated.

Think the dash will fit mate,but the airbag will be a pain in the arse,as you will need....another loom and airbag ecu,and probably there will be a sensor in the seat or seatbelt stalk on a dual air bag punto,just take the bag out and nobody will ever know its not there

Will fit but airbag wont work and you will have a constant airbag light on the car that the airbag is no longer in. Which means air bags wont work.

cheers guys so best off not bothering wiring air bag up as it wont work anyway lol. is there a way to get the airbag out then? but so i can put the still put the fascia on the dash?

Why can't you drive the car, I've known of 3 people to drive with no dash, and one guy had no dash and wasn't planning on putting it back in...

Could you not just drive the other car?

the other car is damaged (in a crash). the full interiors been stripped out etc as im selling it in parts.

as for driving it with no dash i wouldnt feel comfertable, no speedo, no music lol. not me.

You can still have speedo I would imagine. On a corsa C we cable tied speedo to a beam for temp soultion, and HU was in the passenger foot well lol, but I see your point.

well iv done it now. As for driving it wid no dash i dout it would be pos as power steering unit is screwed to the dash. With no dash it would just flop lol
