I got a quote from a garage apparently they do a A* job for my rear windows any shade tint for £110. Just curious of this is a reasonable price to have the rear windows done?

Why is everything cheaper in England...lol

Our tinting is bloody expensive

i was quoted £150 for the back 3 windows of my last car a mk2 punto :(

Quick question to all of you, what % tint should I get? I am unsure what to get. I want the car to look good, have a decent dark tint but not too difficult to look out of from the inside?

Are tints hard to look out of for the driver?

no laws on back windows, so really its personal how much you want. im geting mien done pretty dark. but the front window,s im unsure about the % but its hardly anything so not much point =] thats wat the bloke doing mine told me. he said he culd charge me more and do them cus thye easy to do but theres no point cus the tint is hardly anything cus of the law.

front 2 windows have to be 30% max but remember that u have a manufacturer tint already on so 30 would make it illegal, sun strip is allowed to be 25cm down :D

im goin to get my windows tinted on my punto quoted £125 for all 5 windows tinted by proper proffesionals with guarantee and everything,

or my mates mate use to work for a professional tinting company but now works in a garage but will do all 5 for £80 but no guarantee obviously and i dunno if he any good so im probly goin for the £125 job lol

BTW i think its only 25% tint allowed on front windows and as dark as you want on rears i asked my mate whos a police officer and thats what he told me.

Just a thought guys, anyone actually thought of doing it themselves? Thats what I'm going to do, forget £125 quotes! Sure it'll be done professionally and will be perfect, but from the outside will it make any real difference?

it is very very difficult to do that's why no one does it

Non pro tints look gash unless the person has a real knack of doing it. I could even pick holes in the last professional ones i had done so there is no way in hell i would attempt to do them myself. (on my own car at least :D)

Also i hate the cheap really thick midnight blue type tint that most people seem to be selling on fleabay. Its also a false economy. By the time you have cocked a few sheets up along with a couple of weekends work and they start peeling in a years time you realise just how true that is.

Mine is going in to the shop on Saturday for i believe 70% on the rear three, 30% on the front doors and a 70% tint strip on the windscreen. They will only do the fronts if i promise not to tell any coppers where i got it done. And they are charging £160 all in for cash with guarantee.
