I Have black bump strips on my mk 2 punto i want to take them all off but im not sure if the door is smooth underneath or has holes where the strips would of clipped into and also if i remove them and its smooth will the paint underneath match the same as the car ??

yeah its smooth, remove them with the aid of warm water or a hair dryer... you will need some autoglym TAR remover (or similar) to help you get rid of the double sided tape.

give it a good wash and t-cut (if needed)

i did mine and it looks fine :)

great stuff ive taken others off before and it leaves holes where they would clip in , im going to remove them asap thanks mate:D

yehh, a lot of cars do leave holes, punto mk2's dont though :)

take your time pulling them off, i used a hairdryer on high heat and eased them off (trying to take most of the glue with it) an old bank card helps aswel, i put a cotton "polishing cloth" around a card and autoglym TAR remover on that

i no u r talking bout mk2 but anyone know the deal with mk1? i am pretty sure its stuck on but my paint looks dodgey around them, have a feeling wen they come of ill need car sprayed up,thats expensive i think

took part of rub strip off and there are no clips buts its disgusting underneath, obv the black tape **** is there so i took that off but the paint looks like it has no laquer on top! not nice :(

if you remove all the sticky stuff and t-cut it, it should look alright... depending on the condition of the paintwork on the rest of the car, it will be laquered, they will paint and laquer it before the strips go on, it will look slightly different at first because the sun or any chemicals havnt hit it

I did this to mine yesterday :)

Only thing is that there is still some marks left from the glue they used :(

So is it worth getting this - Autoglym TAR remover?

yes, that stuff works well but does take some rubbing... i used a polishing cloth (autoglym perfect polishing cloths to be precise) but any similar cheaper alternative will work fine

use that to get the sticky stuff off then t-cut and polish to buff it up :)

well paint is generally ok but it doesnt look rite,i cant explain with out showing you but it looks wierd to me!!
