I have a small dent/crease in the drivers side door, I dont know how it was caused, I have been to a few places to see what I can get it repaired for.

The first place was Smartcare and they quoted £391

Second place was BodyKraft and they quoted £280

I have tryed other places but they have just given vewrbal quotes around the same area of £260 - £300+

Is this what it should be, I hope not because I cant afford to have it repaired for something that is not my fault!

Thanks

Its a costly job for something so small, It looks worse on pictures but you can see it.

This will effect my overall value of the car. So annoying!

Seems a bit steep. I once had some stones thrown at my old Astra which put dints in the roof, bumper, drivers side front & rear doors. I had all this repaired and re sprayed for about £400, although the guy didnt charge me VAT. They did an excellent job as well.

Try a local garage.

Thanks I will do, trying everywhere, I just dont have money to make expensive repairs. How much value do you think it will take off my car?

my dad used to be a panel beater and the problem is that its a crease and not just a dent. dents more often than not just 'pop-out' with a bit of heat and a hammer. creases wont coz the metal is stretched or something? makes it harder to repair.

(my very poor translation from what my dad said)

Yh I understand that lol, thanks

Do you think its worth getting repaired? For £350 or let it take the ammount of the car value or will it take more off or less?

Im gussing more

Thanks

take it in mucky/when its raining when you go for your valuation or park that side tight over to another car

then again some garages only knock £50 per dent or something silly like that

Yh gonna try some more places, hope I can get it cheaper...

Yh I love my car and want it to stay mint! Its so annoying when this happens I think everyone will agree

That sounds expensive to me mate, can you get to it from the inside, ie take the door card etc out?

If so it could be sorted, i had a huge series of dents and creases on the bonnet of my old ZR from where someone jumped onto it, a local bodyshop put me in touch with a local bloke, traded as Mr Dent Fixer or something.

He came out, sorted it in an hour and charged me £60. He did a brilliant job, i couldnt see any trace of it being there and ZRs have a complex bonnet shape, bulges etc and a rib dwn the middle.

The bloke had been doing it for years, and he used old fashioned rods and hammers.

Try and get in touch with somewhere near you mate, sure there will be someone doing a similar thing.

Thanks middo, helpful reply.

I think local people rather than company's is the way to go.

My Girlfriends KA had a huge dent in it from half a slab been thrown at it, she got it repaired for £25! but it was a family friend who did it so wondering if he could help me out but owed her Grandad a favor thats why it was so cheap.

Thanks again

dent man will struggle to fix that, as has already been said, its a crease not a dent, it needs filling and painting, silver is a hard colour to match too so the whole door and possibly some of the 3/4 and wing my have to be painted to match

it may only be small but its a lot of work

why would the wing and 3/4 need painting anygood bodyshop will mix the colour to match whats already there

Its a bodyshp job not a dent man so you will pay more as they wont knock that out. Its a crease on one of the lines in the door. If it was in the middle of the panel it would be alot easier/cheaper to sort.
