Anyone know a rough price guide for colour coding bumbstrips, side and front and rear on my stilo?

Going to get a quote this week, just wondering how much it should be roughly.

Any help would be greatful

Will save you serious money, unless your no good with a rattle

you'll never get a showroom finish from a can at the end of the day, sprayed by can will look ok, but you will have terriable orange peely effect when you look closely.

i would probably say £80-100 ish?

not really, i would say it would probably be more.

for a bodyshop to sand them smooth, primer them, sand, primer, sand, mask up the whole car, spray, lacquer.

your easily looking at over £100 i would say.

Is not so much the orange peel, it is the lacquer used. pros and skilled hobby chaps use professional spray equiptment. rattle can primer is as good but must be a specialist plastic type, the base coat in cans is single pak where as we use 2 pack or water base. the rattle can will be fine. The lacquer is the difference, 2 pack is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
much tougher. and gives a better finish.

A bodyshop will charge the amounts suggested.

It can be done with tins and on areas like these the finish will be fine, if you do it correctly!!! and spend more time on it, and use quality paint products!!

It will not be as durable as a pro finish though.

Its not alot at all there is alot of work to be done and it all takes time after they have paid for the paint ect they will only be making around £10 an hour on it witch is f all

Thanks for the help guys. Going to get a quote 2moz if i have time, was going to do it myself but tbh i want a decent job and want it to last

when i got my bumper resparyed i asked the guy how much to do my bumbstrips and got told there is no point as no matter what he does to them they will end up looking **** over time and will chip really easy

my punto bump strips have been sprayed for 4 years+ they look perfect still.

they were done professionally.

Bump strips look sh*t - just take em off and save all the hassel.

...Unless you paint them to contrast the body - where you may notice up to20bhp gains

If u take them off, you have to get the car smoothed, so thats adding more hassel

^^Not!!

I had a punto mk2b - took them off no probs no holes just the sticky sh*t -which wasn't 2 bad when you use a rubber drill head and industrial buffer(carefully )

the model is a Stilo not looked at whether its adhesive or clips on these.
Just dont park in supermarkets if you remove the bump strips, they do serve a purpose.

i was thinking he was more talking about the bumper bump strips, cant be removed and would need smoothing in.
