Bonnet Smoothing

have been looking into getting the bonnet smoothed and remembered people mentioning only getting it done if a plate gets welded over the recess.

I have since been told using some sort of filler will be fine.

Everything i read and see on TV says use the least amount of filler as possible. Id want it welded.

Somebody in the bravo section has a smoothed boot but its filled and the filler is pealing away.

So you got an answer full of my opinion.

I thought you would get this kind of trouble also but im informed filler is just as good as welding.

fecking filler on a bonnet :nutter: unless its lead an i dont think you allowed to use that any more. get it plated wont cost more than 100 for it done proper

you should be able to fibreglass it from the inside, fill the recess with fibreglass, sand flat, skim it with filler and resand it

its a bonnet it gets slammed shut only a fool would only use filler.

you can get away with making a few rounds of fibreglass mat and using that, then fill. but not just filler
